Frosty Woods Trail & MTB Festival
Frosty Woods Trail & MTB Festival is a late November event at Shepherd Lake Recreation Area at Ringwood State Park in Ringwood, New Jersey. The festival brings a trail running program and a mountain bike race together on the same day, with separate courses and staggered starts to reduce overlap. The 2026 edition is the fourth annual trail festival, the fourth annual trail run and the third annual mountain bike race.
Trail and bike courses use classic Ringwood terrain, including flowy and rolling singletrack, rocky sections and fire roads. The trail run is USATF sanctioned and is part of the Way Over Yonder Trail Run Series. Trail runners and mountain bikers each receive a custom Frosty Woods mug with registration.

Awards include medals and category prizes; half marathon and 10K age groups include U19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+. The festival offers a post-race meal of homemade turkey chili and vegetarian lentil bean soup, fresh-baked bread, coffee, tea and non-alcoholic beer. Event parking is at Shepherd Lake Recreation Area with a $5 event parking fee per car; directions follow Morris Road to Shepherd Lake Road and event signage marks the site.
