Froggy Mountain Warrior 100
Froggy Mountain Warrior 100 is a 100 mile trail race held February 26, 2027 in Galax, VA at 166 Old Quaker Road. The event is organized by Froggy Mountain Adventures as a winter fundraiser for the veterans organization 22toomany and supports military and veteran suicide awareness.
The course uses private property associated with the Froggy Mountain venue and includes a new out-and-back trail section of roughly 5 to 8 miles on switchbacks. Organizers estimate about 10,000 to 15,000 feet of climb on mildly technical singletrack with roots and logs to step over. The venue also features existing steep terrain described as 50k of vert.
Aid support includes an aid station offering some hot food; runners are encouraged to bring a preferred race treat to help minimize costs and maximize donations. The race has a 56 hour cutoff. Runners and crew will have access to heated indoor space for bathrooms, cooking and napping, and a drop bag location at the mountain top. Pacers are allowed after 50 miles.
Registration information lists a single price point and notes that $50 from each registration will be donated to 22toomany. Registering before February 1 guarantees receiving the event buckle at the race; otherwise the buckle will be mailed later. Bibs are available for pickup the evening before or the morning of the race. February weather can range from mild temperatures to snow, freezing rain or strong wind chills; organizers list multiple winter gear items as encouraged.
