Fortitude Ultra: Pippingford Park

Fortitude Ultra is a timed endurance event held at Pippingford Park in Nutley, Uckfield. The format is ten hours of competition composed of ten laps around a loop chosen by each participant. Runners choose from three roughly measured loop options and may change to a shorter loop at any time during the event.

Participants must complete each lap and return to the race village within the hour to continue into the next hour. A finishing grade is assigned based on the shortest loop completed rather than total distance covered.

The course options and characteristics:

  • 3-mile loop, more off-road trail.
  • 4-mile loop, mostly hard packed trail.
  • 5-mile loop, mostly hard packed trail.

Each lap includes up to 700 feet (215 m) of elevation gain. The venue is a private working estate that includes an MOD training range and offers a secluded, natural setting for the course.

Included with entry are a finishers T-shirt, a medal, feed provision, event photos, and tracking. The standard entry price is £86, inclusive of VAT and payment processing fees. Entries close at midnight on the Thursday before the event or sooner if the event sells out. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
