Folsom Lake Sweetwater Trail Run : January 23, 2027
This event takes place at Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, starting from the Salmon Falls Parking Lot in El Dorado Hills, CA. Distances offered cover a wide range, from a Kids Run up to a 50K.

The course is approximately 95% single track and 5% dirt road, largely following the South Side Trail next to Folsom Lake. Trails feature gently rolling hills, oak trees, grassy sections, and some technical stretches. There is a creek crossing where runners should expect wet feet and slippery rocks. Courses are marked with ribbons, signs, and gypsum. A trail briefing is held before the first non‑kids races to explain markings and any alternate routes.
Aid and logistics: several aid stations and water stops are placed on the longer routes, with toilets available at the start/finish and at multiple locations on course. Drop bags may be delivered to specified aid stations; participants should label them clearly with name and bib number. At least one EMT will be present and aid stations are staffed. An overall nine hour time limit applies.
Other notes: dogs are not permitted on the course. Runners are advised to use the paid Salmon Falls parking or nearby overflow lots; a $10 per vehicle self registration fee applies at some parking areas. Entry fees are non refundable, and transfers to future events may be allowed if arranged before race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
