Folsom Lake Sweetwater Trail Run
The event on Saturday, January 23, 2027 takes place at Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, Salmon Falls Parking Lot, El Dorado Hills, CA. Multiple race distances are offered on out-and-back routes that mostly follow the South Side Trail.

The course is approximately 95% single-track and 5% dirt road, with gently rolling hills and some technical sections. Trails run near Folsom Lake through oak trees and grassy areas with views of the Sierra foothills. Small sections use pavement. There is a creek crossing that can result in wet feet and slippery rocks; an alternate route that avoids the creek may be used in inclement weather.
Aid stations and water stops are placed along the longer courses, with toilets available at the start area and at aid stations on course. Drop bags can be checked and delivered to designated aid stations. Marking consists of ribbons, signs, and ground markings. An overall 9 hour time limit applies and certain aid stations have cutoffs. Parking in the ranger patrolled Salmon Falls Parking Lot and overflow lots is available for a fee per vehicle; several alternate parking areas are listed by the organizer.
