F.I.T. Turkey Trot : Cumberland, RI (Nov 28, 2026)
The F.I.T. Turkey Trot is a trail running event held in Cumberland, Rhode Island, at the park near the Senior Center (1464 Diamond Hill Rd). The race area includes a field next to the Senior Center; after entering the park, drivers should pass the library to reach parking and the start area. Ample parking is available near the Senior Center.
Races use a rolling start format and require runners to pass through the start and finish lines so the timing chip records results. Timing is provided by the Orbiter timing system with live display at the timing table; official results are posted within a few days. Participants must wear their timing chip for the entire race.
Medical support on site is limited to basic first aid. There are no medical professionals permanently on site; additional care will be requested from local EMS if needed. Organizers may stop a runner from continuing if they are deemed medically unsafe.
Course details:
- Kids 1 Mile: mostly smooth, somewhat hilly trail around the front portion of the park, one crosswalk, follow YELLOW flags.
- 5k: more technical than the kids loop, separates from the 5 mile course on course, follow GREEN flags.
- 5 Mile: the most technical of the three, rocky sections, hills, winding trails, follow RED flags.
- 4 hour multi-lap: follows the 5 mile course; only laps completed within the 4 hour limit are scored.
The event is part of the TrailFecta series that includes F.I.T. Frills on 11/1 and a holiday themed race on 12/12. Runners who complete all three races receive a three piece connecting medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
