Finish Line Frolic

Finish Line Frolic is a looped trail running event organised by Hare & Tortoise Running at Belchamps Camp, Holyoak Lane, Hockley SS5 4JD. The event supports the Finish Line Fund, a charity established in 2014 and registered in 2018 (charity number 1179170), which promotes running and amateur sport in Southend-on-Sea and surrounding areas.

The course is traffic free and made up of repeated laps that are just over 5 km each. Runners may complete as many or as few laps as they wish within a six hour time limit. Completing four laps covers a half marathon and eight laps covers a full marathon. Aid is available at the end of every lap; typical refreshments include flapjacks, fruit, nuts, water and squash. Participants may leave a personal bag at the aid station for items they wish to use during the event.

The event operates a cupless policy to reduce single use plastic, so participants must provide their own receptacle such as a reusable cup or soft flask. A Hydrapak Speedcup is offered for purchase as an option. Toilets are located in Belchamps Park and there is ample on-site parking. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and run under UK Athletics rules. Organisers ask attendees to use the signed access route via Main Road into Poplars Avenue, Woodside Chase and Holyoak Lane rather than Mount Bovers Lane. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
