Federation Ultra Trail
Federation Ultra Trail is a multi-distance trail running event held from the Monarto Safari Park Visitor Centre in Monarto, SA, Australia. The event began in 2018 and follows the southern end of the Lavender Federation Trail through Kinchina Conservation Park to Sturt Reserve in Murray Bridge. Part of the course uses exclusive Monarto Safari Park walking trails.
Runners on course may pass areas where roaming African animals can be seen, including meerkats, giraffe, bison, chimpanzees and rhinos. Proceeds from the event have exceeded A$50,000 and have been donated to Monarto Safari Park to support endangered species protection.
In 2019 the event joined the S.A. Five 50’s Ultra series; that series is now in its ninth year. The event offers tiered registration pricing (earliest bird, early bird, standard) and published remaining spots for each distance.
Available distances include:
- 56 km course on Lavender Federation Trail and Kinchina Conservation Park
- 35 km Monarto Safari Park loop then Lavender Federation Trail
- 26 km fast, slightly downhill half-trail marathon course
- 10 km loop inside Monarto Safari Park
- 5 km family-friendly Safari Park loop
The event is organised by Murraylands Multisports Inc. and provides race information and registration details through its event pages. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
