Falcon Crest Winter Trail Challenge
The Falcon Crest Winter Trail Challenge is a trail running event on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the Falcon Crest Parking Lot / Monte Vista Trailhead in El Dorado Hills, CA 95762. The event offers multiple distances and an overall time limit; specific time limits are published for each distance.
The course follows mostly single-track dirt trails with small sections of pavement. The route runs through foothills near Folsom Lake and includes oak trees, grassy areas, rolling hills, and some technical sections. Ribbons, signs, and gypsum mark the course. There is a creek crossing that may result in wet feet and slippery rocks; an alternate course avoiding the creek may be used in inclement weather.

Aid stations are located at Salmon Falls, Old Salmon Falls, and Falcon Crest. Many aid stations have bathrooms; some allow crews and drop bags. Drop bags are collected at registration and delivered to on-course stations. Portable toilets are available at the start/finish and at several on-course locations. Parking is free in the Falcon Crest gravel lot with limited spaces; Old Salmon Falls parking has a day-use fee and additional parking options are noted. All finishers receive a medal.
