Eyam Fell Race
Eyam Fell Race is a preregistration-only fell running event that starts and finishes in the historic Plague village of Eyam. The route climbs out of Eyam to Sir William Hill, passes the Barrell Inn at Bretton, and continues toward Bretton Clough with views over the Peak District. Runners then descend through Abney Moor, negotiate a tight switchback, climb back through heather toward Sir William Hill, and drop through a steep wooded section before returning to Eyam.
Entries are strictly limited and the event often sells out. The organisers provide marshals along the route, a range of prizes supplied in part by local sponsors at the Barrell Inn at Bretton, and food and bar facilities in the courtyard after the race. The event is open to runners aged 18 and upwards on the day of the race and is held under the rules of the Fell Runners Association (FRA).
Parking is limited and additional event information is circulated to entrants ahead of the race. The event includes a junior fell race on the same occasion with separate arrangements for younger competitors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
