Exmoor Running and Walking Festival
The Exmoor Running and Walking Festival takes place in Exmoor National Park over a long weekend in June 2027. The programme combines multi-distance walking and trail running events with social evenings at the event hub.
Events across the weekend include a Friday sunset swim at Pinkery Pond and a mix of perambulation and trail races on Saturday and Sunday. Distances and event options on offer include:
- 30 miles long distance walk
- 15 miles long distance walk
- 30 miles ultra trail marathon
- 15 miles wild trail run
- 5 km Man vs Moor Light
- 10 km Man vs Moor Classic
- 10 miles Man vs Moor Ultimate
The Exmoor Perambulation is presented as a traditional, self-navigated circular long distance walking event with origins over 725 years old. Its route follows a historical boundary and includes sections accessible only with landowner permission; detailed instructions, maps and GPX files are provided to help with navigation where routes do not follow public rights of way.
Man vs Moor routes use the Chains area and pass through remote moorland terrain with naturally formed obstacles. Entrants have the option to purchase a signature laser engraved wooden medal. First male and first female in each Man vs Moor distance receive a trophy, and hot chocolate is offered by the event partner Miles. Evening gatherings include a guest speaker and film screenings.
