The Exmoor Running and Walking Festival
The festival celebrates travelling on foot within Exmoor National Park and is based at the Pinkery Centre for Outdoor Learning in Simonsbath, Somerset, in a remote part of the park. It combines organised walking and trail running events from two series that have been run together since 2021.
Organisers previously ran the Exmoor Perambulation for nine years and developed the Man vs Moor concept; bringing them to the same weekend aims to gather participants at a single event hub and offer an extended weekend programme. The festival programme includes evening social gatherings on Friday and Saturday, guest speakers, film and documentary screenings, and a BBQ area where visitors can bring and cook their own food. Optional locally made solid oak wooden medals are available to order separately.
The 2026 festival programme included the following event distances and formats:
- The Exmoor Perambulation : Long Distance Walk: 30 miles or 15 miles
- The Exmoor Perambulation : Ultra Trail Marathon: 30 miles
- The Exmoor Perambulation : Wild Trail Run: 15 miles
- Family Walk: 3 miles
- Man vs Moor Light: 5 km
- Man vs Moor Classic: 10 km
- Man vs Moor Ultimate: 10 miles
- Man vs Moor Kids: 1.5 km
Entries for the 2026 festival closed eight days before the event at midnight on 12 June 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
