Euchre Bar Massacre
Euchre Bar Massacre is a fatass-style trail event on October 10, 2026 near Foresthill, CA. The event offers the following distances:
- 50 Miler
- 25 Miler
Both courses run along the wild and scenic North Fork of the American River and start and finish at Shirttail Creek Campground near Foresthill. Route features include significant off-trail sections, bushwhacking, and route finding. The course uses sections such as Euchre Bar, Pioneer Mine, Ebeneezer's Highway, Green Valley, Mumford Bar, and Italian Bar. There is one designated location for drop bags and crew that participants pass twice.
Elevation gain is substantial, with roughly 10,000 feet of climbing for the 25 mile course and roughly 20,000 feet for the 50 mile course. Distances are approximate and the organizer notes they may refer to nautical miles. Finish times from the previous year were long: around 14 hours for the 25 mile and about 25 hours for the 50 mile.
Entry is free and the combined field for both distances is limited to 50 people. Organizers maintain a waiting list for full events. A group campsite is available for Friday and Saturday nights.
