Fireworks Marathons & Half Marathons
Enigma Running stages a fireworks-themed running event at Caldecotte Lake in Milton Keynes, held on a lapped lakeside course. The route follows lake paths and mixes hard gravel and concrete with a few yards of mud and grass. Marathon entrants complete multiple laps of the circuit, described as about seven and a half rotations, while half marathon entrants complete about three and a half rotations.
Distances offered:
- 26.2 mi Marathon
- 13.1 mi Half Marathon
The event includes basic race services: a bespoke finisher's medal, water stations, toilets, a timekeeper, and parking. There are cut-off times: seven hours for the marathon and four hours for the half marathon. All entrants must be at least 18 years old. Race numbers are collected from Race HQ at the Caldecotte Arms; entrants are advised to allow time for this process.
There is no secure baggage drop; the looped course means bags can be left at the start and finish with no covered storage for rain. On-course nutrition is self-supplied; the organiser does not provide gels or energy drinks. Parking is available near the Caldecotte Arms and Furzton. Bow Brickhill is the closest train station to the event site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
