Emerald City Open
Emerald City Open is a fall cross country meet held at Lower Woodland Park in Seattle. The course uses a 2000 m loop: the women's race covers three laps and the men's race covers four laps. The start line is in a grassy clearing near the start/finish area.
Races include:
- 6K women's race, three laps of a 2000 m loop
- 8K men's race, four laps of a 2000 m loop
- 2K community race for adults and kids, entry fee applies
Registration closes on October 9. Club Northwest members enter free. Open individual entries are charged $20 and teams are charged $200; a team is a single-gender group of 5 to 12 participants. Teams larger than 12 incur an additional $20 per extra participant. The Community 2K has a separate $5 fee. Packet pickup takes place at the tent by the start/finish; teams must declare their rosters and scratch non-competing runners at pickup.
Facilities at the park do not include concessions or lockers. Bathrooms are adjacent to the registration and start/finish area, and picnic shelters and tables are available for team belongings.
The finish line is marked with a banner and clock and uses FAT timing with a finish-line camera. Top five team members score, with up to two displacing runners; declared B teams are scored separately. Results are posted online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
