El Taco Loco
El Taco Loco is a trail running event on November 14, 2026 at the Land Heritage Institute in San Antonio, Texas. The event has a maximum field of 500 runners and offers an in-person and a virtual option. A 100k four-person relay is available.

The course uses mainly single-track trails with soft footing and loose gravel. Trails run through open meadows and along the Medina River. Longer races use multiple loops: the 100M is composed of six 16-mile loops plus a 5k loop; the 100k runs four loops; smaller distances use one or two loops as listed by distance.
Aid stations: three full aid stations serve the longer distances with drinks, sodas, sweets, salty snacks, sandwiches, burrito rolls, fruit, medical supplies (no NSAIDs), and evening foods such as quesadillas and soups. The event is cupless at aid stations; participants should bring reusable cups, bottles, or hydration packs.
Logistics: drop bags are stored at the main aid area and are moved to midcourse stations; tent and car camping is included with park entry. Park entry requires a fee per person with children 12 and under free. Pacers, relay rules, race swag, finisher awards (medals and taco-themed buckles), winners awards by gender categories, and a costume contest are part of the event.
