ECT 50% Half Marathon
The ECT 50% Half Marathon is a trail running event located in Flatrock, Newfoundland and Labrador. Organized by the ECT Sampler Series, this race covers a distance of 21 km. The course utilizes sections of the East Coast Trail, specifically following Father Troy's Trail, Silver Mine Head Path, and Cobbler's Path. The route begins in Flatrock and concludes at the Red Cliff parking lot.
The event follows specific safety and self-sufficiency rules. All participants are required to carry a cell phone and a whistle throughout the race. Aid is strictly regulated; runners may only receive assistance at the designated aid station located at Middle Cove Beach, except in cases requiring medical attention. While the aid station provides water and sports drinks, participants are responsible for their own nutrition, specialized kit, and clothing suitable for varying weather conditions.
Check-in and bib pickup take place at the Ann Waterman Family Park in Flatrock on the morning of the event. Due to the point-to-point nature of the course, organizers encourage participants to use carpooling or arrange for drop-offs at the start.
Registration for this event is non-transferable to other individuals. However, participants may move their registration to another race within the ECT Sampler Series if they provide advance notice. The event is insured by the Canadian Adventure Racing Association (CARA) and is supported by several local organizations, including the East Coast Trail Association.
