ECT 15 Trail Race
The ECT 15 is a trail running event scheduled for October 3, 2026, in Pouch Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador. Organized by the ECT Sampler Series, the race utilizes the Stiles Cove Path, a section of the East Coast Trail that runs from Pouch Cove to Flatrock. The event is designed to provide participants with an introduction to trail racing or serve as preparation for longer distances such as an ultramarathon.
The race features a single distance:
- 15 km trail run
Participants have the option of purchasing a season pass, which includes registration for this event as well as the ECT 50% Half Marathon held the following week. The event is insured by the Canadian Adventure Racing Association (CARA) and receives support from the East Coast Trail Association.
The event operates under specific safety and logistical requirements. All runners are required to carry a whistle and a mobile phone throughout the duration of the race. As a rain or shine event, participants must be self-sufficient regarding their nutrition, clothing, and gear to manage varying weather conditions. A drop bag service is available, allowing runners to have one bag transported to the finish line for access to fresh clothing after the run.
Check-in and bib pickup take place at Memorial Park in Pouch Cove. Registration is non-transferable between individuals, though participants may request to move their registration to another race within the sampler series with advance notice.
