Dusk to Dawn 6/12 : GoodRunnings

The Dusk-to-Dawn 6/12 is a time-based ultra run held on a riverside loop near Glenelg. The course is a quiet 2.56464 km AIMS-certified loop along the river with sand beach and palm trees on one side and views of the nearby harbour. Course direction rotates and participants are turned around every three hours.

There is one aid station at the start/finish of the loop, passed every 2.56464 km. The aid station provides water, sports drink, soft drink, snacks, lollies, first aid, ice, zooper doopers, and additional food items.

Event features and services:

  • Distances: 6 hour and 12 hour time-based events
  • Chip timing with a timing mat and vertical antenna backup; two cameras record video for review
  • Bib collection available on the day, beginning 30 minutes before the event; a race briefing occurs shortly before the start
  • An ESL simplified race briefing is offered before the event using simpler language and slower delivery
  • Complimentary finisher medals and momento for all participants; personalization (name, message, distance) available for an extra cost
  • Event supports Northern Adelaide Domestic Violence Services with $5 from every registration going to the charity

Policies (summary):

  • Cancellations more than 28 days before the event are refundable minus an administration fee; cancellations within 28 days are non-refundable unless refund protection was purchased
  • Transfers to other people or distances are allowed up to one week before the event with fees
  • If the event is rescheduled for bad weather, registrants may be offered event credit according to notification timelines; optional bad weather insurance is available
