Drone Valley Trail Half Marathon
The Drone Valley Trail Half Marathon is the second edition of a 13.1 miles trail race held in the Derbyshire countryside with start and finish at Drone Valley Brewery in Unstone on 10 October 2026. The course mixes forest paths, fields, bridleways and minor roads and includes approximately 1,700 feet of total elevation.
The route is largely self-navigated and largely unsupported, with one aid station located halfway around the course and light refreshments provided there. Organisers provide a GPX file and written race instructions in advance; final versions will be emailed to competitors within two weeks of the event. First aid cover is provided at the start/finish area, at the halfway aid station and at points on the course. There are several busy road crossings; the most hazardous crossings will have marshals but runners must remain alert.
Entry opens on 5 March 2026 and closes on 9 October 2026. Entry prices are stated as early bird and standard rates, with a £2 discount for UKA affiliated runners. The minimum age is 18. No dogs are permitted and refunds are only offered if the event is cancelled.
Included for competitors are a high-quality finisher’s medal and a voucher for a free pint of beer or a non-alcoholic alternative, redeemable at the Brewery on race day. Mandatory kit requirements include at least 1 litre water capacity, waterproof jacket, warm layers, emergency blanket, whistle, emergency snacks and a charged mobile phone with what3words available.
