Drone Valley Trail Half Marathon
The Drone Valley Trail Half Marathon is a 13.1-mile trail race based at Drone Valley Brewery in Unstone, Derbyshire. The route combines forest paths, fields, bridleways and minor roads and includes approximately 1,700 ft of elevation, with a mix of runnable sections and a few climbs. The course is predominantly trail and has several busy road crossings; the most hazardous crossings will have marshals but runners must remain alert.
The event is self-navigated and largely unsupported. There will be one aid station at the halfway point offering light refreshments, and first aid cover at the start/finish area, the halfway aid station and out on the course. Runners receive a GPX file and written route instructions; final copies are emailed to entrants before the event.
Entry is open to adults aged 18 and over. Entry fees vary by affiliation with a UK Athletics discount; separate early and standard price tiers apply. The race is organised under UK Athletics rules. No dogs are permitted and refunds are only given if the event is cancelled.
Mandatory kit includes a minimum 1 litre water capacity, waterproof jacket, warm layers, emergency blanket, whistle, emergency snacks and a charged mobile phone with the Race Director’s number saved and what3words available. Finishers receive a high-quality medal and a voucher for a free pint or a non-alcoholic option, redeemable at the brewery on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
