Dragon Slayer Ultra, Chepstow, Gwent
Held on August 29, 2027, at Chepstow Castle (Bridge Street, NP16 5EY), this event is the Dragon Slayer Ultra-marathon covering 35 miles. The route follows the Wye Valley Trail from Chepstow Castle to Monmouth on the Welsh side, then returns along the Offas Dyke path on the English side back to Chepstow.
The course passes several distinct landmarks and features. Runners go through the giants cave, climb 365 steps, and pass Tintern Abbey on the way to Monmouth. On the return the route rises to The Kymen, continues through Redbrook, and passes through the approximately 1 km Tiddenham Tunnel before descending back into Chepstow. Finishers receive a medal and there is live music at the Three Tuns Pub near the finish.
