About the race
The Double Peak Challenge is a community running event on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the San Elijo Recreation Center lower field in San Marcos, California. The event includes a competitive 10K, a 5K fun run, and a free Kids Trot.

Registration fees follow presale tiers through September 23 at 12 noon. For the 10K the listed presale prices are $60 (through 7/31), $70 (8/1–8/31) and $80 (9/1–9/19). For the 5K the listed presale prices are $30 (through 7/31), $40 (8/1–8/31) and $50 (9/1–9/19). The Kids Trot is free. Registered participants receive a wooden medal, a race shirt, and access to the race expo; participants 21 and older receive a complimentary beer ticket.
Packet pickup is available Wednesday, September 23, 4–7 p.m. at North City, 250 N. City Drive, San Marcos 92078. Race day packet pickup is also available but may involve lines. Participant parking is available on surrounding streets and at San Elijo Middle School and San Elijo Elementary School. A participant drop-off area and ADA parking are located in the lot adjacent to San Elijo Road. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
