Doggone Fun Run
The Doggone Fun Run is a pet-friendly 5K run and walk on the trails at Johns Island County Park. Participants may run or walk alongside their socialized dogs on the park's scenic routes.
The event includes local animal rescues and vendors providing information and community resources. Additional activities listed for the day include raffles, giveaways, and a pet costume contest. Every participant receives a unique dog tag finisher award, and each dog receives a treat. The first 200 registrants receive a custom bandana. The event is untimed and packet pick-up will be held on the day of the event. Advance registration is required and ends Wednesday, May 5. Children 12 and under are free and not required to register. A registered and paid chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under.
Rules for pets and equipment are stated for safety and control. Socialized dogs on a short leash are welcome. Pets must be kept on a leash, cleaned up after, and under control at all times. For their safety, pets may not be left in vehicles. Retractable leashes, bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, and scooters are not permitted.
