Dick Collins Firetrails - Ultrarunning 100K, 50 Mile, and Marathon
Dick Collins Firetrails is an established trail-running event in the Bay Area that stages three distances: a 100K, a 50 Mile, and a Marathon. All races are UTMB Index events, and the 50 mile race is included in the Pacific USATF Grand Prix.
This edition returns to the original course layout with a fast out-and-back segment to Lone Oak and only a few small course changes compared with the classic route. The 100K and 50 mile races start and finish at Lake Chabot Marina in Casto Valley, California; the marathon is a point to point race beginning in Tilden Regional Park. Time limits are set for each distance.
The event notes a long history with previous race directors and past course record holders acknowledged as part of its heritage. Training activities on the course are offered in advance, with organized runs announced for August 30 and September 13. An active Strava group is used to share training information.
All 2027 athlete guides, including routes, pace charts, and GPX files, are available for competitors and support crews to consult. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
