Dick Collins Firetrails
Dick Collins Firetrails is scheduled for September 26, 2026 in Castro Valley, California, with the primary venue at Lake Chabot Regional Park (17936 Lake Chabot Rd). The event comprises multiple trail races that run on established Bay Area courses and use regional park trails.
The event includes these distances:
- 100k Bay Ridge 100k
- 50 mile Firetrails 50
- Marathon Golden Hills Marathon
Course notes state a return to original or "OG" routings for multiple races. The Firetrails 50 returns to its earlier course with a fast out-and-back section. The 100k continues a recent tradition of running to Rancho Laguna. The Golden Hills Marathon returns to its classic point-to-point course starting at Lone Oak in Tilden; bus service from Lake Chabot to the marathon start is offered. The organizer will provide information about aid stations, drop bags, pacers, and crew access.
Races carry UTMB index status. The Firetrails 50-mile is included in the Pacific USATF Grand Prix. Time limits are published and enforced because of park permits and curfew: 100k 16.5 hours, 50 mile 15.5 hours, marathon 12.5 hours.
Finishers receive event apparel and commemorative items; the 100k finishers receive a rhino belt buckle in addition to other finisher items. Age group awards are given in 10-year bands. Refunds are generally not offered; deferral options exist outside 30 days, with limited deferral accommodations inside 30 days. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
