Diamond Hill Mountain Race
Diamond Hill is a mountain running event held in County Galway, organized under the Irish Mountain Running Association. The race takes place on the trails of Connemara National Park, with parking available on-site. Participants are encouraged to carpool as the parking area is shared with other park visitors.
The event offers two distinct distances:
- 7.1 km main course with 440 m of ascent
- 2.9 km short course
The main route is categorized with a difficulty rating of 6, involving moderate terrain and a total climb between 200 and 500 meters. The course is fully marked for runners, and the use of GPS devices for navigation is not permitted.
Safety requirements include a mandatory Level B kit. All participants must bring a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with the emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. The final determination of which items must be carried during the run is made on the day of the event based on weather conditions.
