Irish Orienteering Championships 2027

The Irish Orienteering Championships 2027 is a four-day orienteering event hosted by Great Eastern Navigators in Connemara. It runs from Friday 30 April to Monday 3 May 2027 and includes a mix of urban and forest races across the weekend.

The programme lists a pre-championship sprint/urban event on Friday (to be confirmed), a middle distance race on Saturday 1 May, a classic (long) distance on Sunday 2 May, and the Irish Relay Championships on Monday 3 May held near Oughterard. The middle and classic events are set on the slopes of Errisbeg Mountain adjacent to Roundstone, with the event centre based in the village of Roundstone.

Terrain in the competition area includes complex navigation and intricate rock detail typical of Connemara. International cartographers from Czechia are mapping Errisbeg Mountain for the event. Organisers have designated parts of the competition areas as out of bounds between publication and the competition date to protect fairness.

Accommodation and food options are available in Roundstone, which is described as a village in Connemara with nearby beaches. Entry details and further event information will be announced by the organisers in the months before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
