The Derwent Reservoir Runs

The Derwent Reservoir Runs return for their ninth year with a date in May to allow more on-site car parking. The event takes place at Derwent Reservoir, Edmundbyers, Consett, DH8 9TT, and uses mixed terrain around the reservoir.

Routes include:

  • 5 km - firm trails; canicross friendly, one controlled dog per runner
  • 5 mile - firm trails; canicross friendly, one controlled dog per runner
  • 10 mile - full lap of the reservoir on closed roads and firm trails; not suitable for canicross

The 10 mile race has a 2.5 hour cut off because of road closures. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. An event T-shirt is available to purchase for £14 when registering.

There is a parking charge on site and all vehicles must purchase a parking pass for £3; parking payment arrangements will be confirmed nearer the event. Entry prices listed for the event are £29 for the 10 mile, £26 for the 5 mile, and £22 for the 5 km. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
