Death by 5k Waterloo

Death by 5k is a fourth-year endurance event at George Wyth State Park in Waterloo, Iowa. The challenge requires participants to complete ten 5k runs within a 24 hour period, with each 5k starting 2.5 hours after the previous one.

Race headquarters is at the Canfield Shelter. The course is an out and back on the paved Cedar Valley Lakes Trail. Participants may run or walk each loop and may spend time between runs in a camping tent, hammock, under a pop up tent, or inside their vehicles.

The organizer will provide five meal services during the event; each meal includes hot food. Additional snack food and drinks are available throughout the event. Registered participants receive an event shirt and other event swag, and finishers receive a handmade finisher's coffin.

Initial registration is limited to 150 participants; a waitlist will open after that limit is reached and additional participants may be added if slots become available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
