Get Roasted Turkey Trot 5k
The Get Roasted Turkey Trot takes place on November 26, 2026 in Waverly, Iowa, at 106 West Bremer Avenue. The event is the second annual Thanksgiving morning running event and includes two separate races.

The 5k is a timed event on local trails. The Kids Dash is an untimed, approximately 100 yard dash intended for children ages 10 and under; first boy and girl winners in the Kids Dash receive a small trophy and a $25 local business gift card, and all kids receive a bib and a gift.
Packet pickup is arranged at Get Roasted Coffee Company, 106 W. Bremer Ave, and additional day-of packet pickup is available at the start area. The 5k registration fee is $35.00; the Kids Dash registration is free. Registration windows are listed for each event and the 5k registration is capped at 400 participants. Registering by November 2 guarantees a 5k race shirt. Race swag for the 5k includes a custom race bib, a designer shirt, and a finisher stocking cap. Overall finisher awards are offered and hot cocoa and coffee are provided at the finish. A portion of the event proceeds will go to Waverly Cedar Valley Friends of The Family.
