Zanja Peak Endurance Challenge
The Zanja Peak Endurance Challenge is a trail running event held in the Crafton Hills of Yucaipa, California. This race features rugged terrain and a variety of trail conditions, with courses starting and finishing at the Crafton Hills College Track. The event is open to both runners and hikers.
The event offers three distinct distances to accommodate different levels of experience:
- 21 Miler: Features over 4,300 feet of elevation gain and includes three fully stocked aid stations.
- 10 Miler: Includes approximately 1,600 feet of elevation gain and offers ridgeline views.
- 4 Miler: A shorter course with roughly 600 feet of elevation gain.
The course layouts include sustained ascents, technical descents, and fast sections across the local landscape. The 21 Miler route is designed as a demanding course that climbs deep into the hills, while the 4 Miler is structured as an introduction to trail racing.
The organizers commit 10% of registration fees to the Crafton Hills Open Space Conservancy. These funds are used to support trail stewardship, conservation efforts, and the preservation of the local ecosystem in Yucaipa. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
