Conquer the Wall Endurance Challenge : Williamson, WV
Conquer the Wall is a multi-day endurance event held on the campus of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College in Williamson, WV. The event offers 47 hour and 35 hour formats on a flat, paved 2.05 mile loop along the West Williamson flood wall and the college grounds. The weekend includes solo entries and relay teams of two or three, plus dedicated ruck divisions with a required pack weight of 25 pounds that will be weighed before the race, at six hour intervals, and after the event.
Timing uses ankle bracelet tracking devices worn on the right leg at all times; laps count when crossing the timing mat. At the 50 mile mark, participants may reverse the course direction after crossing the mat. Live lap results are displayed inside a central area, and manual lap counting will supplement electronic timing. Organizers note that GPS devices can show small cumulative distance errors over many laps.
On-site amenities include a primary aid and food area with water, electrolyte drinks, pickle juice, pedialyte, hot and cold food options, and cots. Camping is available on campus and limited indoor lodging is offered for a set number of participants. Volunteers work in shifts and receive a long sleeve volunteer shirt. The event is limited to 250 participants and registration closes March 11, 2027. Alcohol is not permitted on campus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
