Coniston Trail

The Coniston Lakeland Trails event is based at Coniston Sports and Social Club and follows well marked and marshalled footpaths and bridleways from the shores of Coniston Water into the Coppermines Valley. The routes take in panoramic views of the Old Man, Swirl How, Wetherlam and Dow Crags.

Courses are mainly hard packed trails with occasional muddy sections. One short section on the 16K route may be difficult to run and could require walking. Marshals and volunteers staff the course and several gates and sections of private land are only open for race day; runners are asked to close gates behind them and to carry any litter until a bin is reached.

Event facilities include an event village with live music, race commentary, local food and drink stalls, specialist traders and event t-shirts. Race numbers must be worn horizontally for timing chips to register. Dogs are not permitted on the running courses and should be kept on a lead in the main venue. In ear headphones are not allowed; bone conductor headphones are permitted.

Practical information for arrivals includes parking in fields close to the event centre using postcode LA21 8AL and payment details for car parking. Results are published live on the event website. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
