Community Hike & Trail Run Series - Richmond
This is a recurring community meetup that combines a group hike with an optional trail run. The series is organized by FIERCE Advocates in collaboration with Moving Forward and Richmond Run Club and takes place at 5551 Giant Highway in Richmond, CA. Events recur monthly on first Saturdays in 2026, with dates on March 7, April 4, May 2, June 6, July 4, August 1, September 5, October 3, and November 7.
Each meetup begins with a brief welcome and safety notes. Participants choose between a community hike at a conversational pace with regroup points and an assurance that no one is left behind, or a trail run option offered at a faster pace with more miles on a clear route plan. The group finishes together at the end of the route.
Organizers share event details with registrants before each date, including trailhead and parking information, route distance and elevation, and recommended items to bring. Recommended gear includes water, sturdy shoes, layers, and sun protection; snacks and trekking poles are optional.
This outdoor event may adjust routes for weather or trail conditions. Typical meetups last about 3 hours, are in person, are open to all ages, and offer free parking. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
