Colt 45 Trail Race
The Colt 45 Trail Race takes place on November 21, 2026 at Colt Creek State Park, 16000 State Rte 471, Lakeland, FL 33809. The event uses looped trail courses and offers four distance options.
Distances:
- Colt Double Malt - 60 miles total (45 miles plus a bonus loop)
- Original Colt 45 - 45 miles from three 14-mile loops and a 3-mile starter loop
- Colt Silver - 45K from two 14-mile loops
- Colt Mini - one 14-mile loop
Each loop includes three aid stations. Runners should expect a section slightly over 5 miles between the first and second visits to Aid Station 2 and plan to carry at least a handheld water bottle. Aid station locations are listed as MM3, MM5.6 and MM11, with the start/finish aid station at MM14.
Packet pickup begins one hour before each race. The park charges a $4 day-use fee per vehicle (exact cash recommended); an online day-use pass option is available. The top three male and female finishers in each distance receive special overall awards, and handcrafted medals are provided to other finishers. After awards, participants may use the post-race picnic area to rest and observe other runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
