Bridgedale Coast 2 Coast - Mourne Marathon
The Bridgedale Coast 2 Coast is a 26.2 mile (42 km) point to point mountain marathon that crosses the Mourne Mountains and reaches the summit of Slieve Donard, the highest peak in the range. The route begins in Rostrevor and follows the Mourne Way through forest trails, open mountain tracks and remote valleys before joining the Trassey Track and climbing into the High Mournes. The course then descends to a finish in Donard Park, Newcastle.
The route combines sections of runnable trail with sustained climbs, technical terrain and changing underfoot conditions. The race includes significant elevation gain and mountain conditions that require appropriate preparation and equipment. The course uses a mix of forest paths, open mountain tracks and off-road sections, and runners move through varied landscape types over the full marathon distance.
The event is ITRA certified and is organised as a single marathon distance of 42 km. Event policies note that entries have no refunds and that changes are allowed up to four days before the event.
