Run Forest Run Castlewellan
Run Forest Run Castlewellan is the final race in the Run Forest Run series, held at The Court Yard, Castlewellan Forest Park, Main Street, Castlewellan, Co. Down BT31 9BU on 27 February 2027. The course starts and finishes on the grass close to the lake and passes the lakeside castle, with views toward the Mourne Mountains and a permanent maze.
The event offers two measured distances and uses individual chip timing. Entry fees are published with an early bird rate available before 23 December 2026 and standard fees thereafter. Race packs and bibs are posted to participants in advance; organisers publish a final race information email the week before the event. Online registration is the primary entry method and on-the-day entry may be available if the event does not sell out, subject to an additional charge.
Race facilities and rules noted by the organiser include:
- 5K route, off-road, starts and finishes near the lakeside castle
- 10K route, off-road, similar terrain with slight distance variation
- No water station on course; participants should carry water if needed
- Toilets in the main car park and at the Courtyard; showers at the Life Building
- A £5 parking fee applies in the main car park; free parking is available outside the park about 1 km away
- Pets are not allowed and buggies are not suitable for the course
