Salt City Fall Classic : November 21, 2026
Salt City Trail Racing organizes a timed trail event at Baltimore Woods Nature Center in Marcellus, NY. The event offers multiple timed-distance options on a single loop course and runs on the preserve's recently acquired trails.
Participants run the same 1.7 mile loop repeatedly for the duration of their chosen time window. Finishing mileage is the number of completed laps when the participant stops or when their allotted time ends. Runners may run any portion of the event duration rather than the full time.
The course follows the Meadow, Bluebird, and Rim Trails in a clockwise loop, combining rolling double track and winding single track through open fields, forests, and around a former quarry. Each loop returns to the Interpretive Center where spectators have porch seating and runners can use the outdoor pavilion and lodge facilities.
Aid station offerings include water, Skratch, bananas, pickles, PB&Js, potato chips, pretzels, Oreos, candy, and limited hot foods for 12 hour participants later in the day. Inside the lodge there will be hot soup, bread, coffee, hot cider, and cocoa. All entrants receive SCTR socks; finishers receive a race buff; top finishers receive winners beanies.
Pacers are allowed in the second half of the 12 hour event only. Pacers must register, check in, and wear a pacer bib. Registration closes Fri, Nov 20 at 6:00 PM ET. Entry prices range from USD 43.50 to 87.50. Runner donations will be split between Baltimore Woods Nature Center and the Central New York Land Trust and matched by SCTR up to $500.
