Phoenix : Surrey - Alpaca Wacka vs Drama Llama Run
Phoenix Running stages a timed, lap-based event on a 5.3 km (3.28 mile) out-and-back course along the river Thames towpath at Xcel SPORTS HUB Stadium, Waterside Drive, Walton on Thames, Surrey. The course is off-road trail on riverside towpath with no elevation gain or loss, and entries may be completed as single laps or multiple laps within a seven hour time limit. A flexible start format offers a one hour start window to accommodate different arrival times.
Real alpacas visit the towpath during the event and are available for petting and photos; named examples include Stanley and Bourbon. Finishers receive a bespoke finishers' medal, and there is also a no-medal entry option offered at a flat £20 fee. The event provides timed results, same day results publication, athlete profiles, digital BIBs, digital finishers' certificates, and on-course aid station support.
Distance choices are lap based and include:
- 5 km to 10 km options
- Half marathon distance
- Marathon distance
- Ultra distance by completing multiple laps
