Event Overview

The Chief Ladiga 100 takes place in Jacksonville, Alabama, and follows the country's longest paved trail. The course is situated in the foothills of the Appalachians, leading participants through a landscape of wetlands, streams, forests, and farmlands with mountain views. This event utilizes a smooth paved surface for its entire duration.

The primary distance is a 100-mile out-and-back course. Participants travel from Jacksonville to Nathan Dean Park in Rockmart, Georgia, before returning to the Jacksonville Community Center. The route features approximately 3,500 feet of total elevation gain and loss. There is a 32-hour cutoff time for this distance.

Available Distances

The event offers several race options held on the same weekend:

  • 100 Mile: A 100-mile out-and-back course on paved trails.
  • 50 Mile: A route from Germania Springs to the state line and back.
  • 50K: A point-to-point race starting from the state line at Esom Hill.
  • 13.1 Mile: A point-to-point half marathon starting from the Eubanks Welcome Center.

Logistics and Support

Aid stations are positioned along the course with a maximum distance of 8 miles between stops. For the 100-mile distance, crews can access 12 out of the 14 aid stations. The finish line area at the Jacksonville Community Center provides food, beverages, and music.

Jacksonville is located approximately one hour from both Atlanta, Georgia, and Birmingham, Alabama. Participants have access to various local hotel options.
