About the race
The Cazenovia Preservation Foundation Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning running and walking event on the Gorge Trail in Cazenovia, NY. Courses are run out-and-back on a gravel converted rail-trail with the same start location for both distances. The 5K uses chip timing and has prize awards for the top three finishers in each 5K category: Men, Women, and Youth. Separate courses with staggered starts are used for the 5K and the 1 mile Fun Run/Walk.
Pre-registration fees are listed separately for members and non-members, and there is a day-of registration fee for participants ages 13 and up; children aged 12 and under participate free of charge. Light refreshments are provided after the event. The event collects non-perishable food donations for Caz Cares.
Practical notes: parking is accessed via Burton Street at Burton Street Elementary School (37 Burton Street). There are no bathroom facilities at the trail head. Dogs and strollers are not permitted on the trail during the race. Costumes are encouraged.
