About the race
The Carson Valley Trails Run the Valley event on September 26, 2026 takes place at James Lee Memorial Park in Carson City, Nevada. It offers three off-road distances and uses trails developed by the Carson Valley Trails Association.
Distances include:
- 10 km (6 miles) - starts at James Lee Memorial Park, includes a 0.25-mile climb.
- 5 km (about 3.55 miles) - starts at James Lee Memorial Park, includes a 0.25-mile climb.
- 2 km family run - crushed granite path then single-track trails; strollers and leashed dogs welcome.
Registration for the 5k and 10k carries a $35 fee and includes a one-year Carson Valley Trails Association membership at no additional cost; current CVTA members receive a $10 discount code. The 2k family run is free; t-shirts for 2k participants are available as a paid add-on. Registrants for the 5k and 10k who sign up before August 31 are eligible to receive a t-shirt.
Tech shirts are provided for all 5k and 10k finishers. Children under 12 who complete the 2k receive a kid's finisher medal. Race bibs are available on-site on race morning. Free parking is available in the lots at James Lee Memorial Park. Participants are advised to dress in layers due to variable Northern Nevada weather.
