Callow Fell Race
Callow Fell Race is an AS-category fell race held from Little Stretton, now incorporated into the Winter Series. The course length is 8.1 km with 762 m of total ascent. The route climbs four steep valley rises and finishes on a fast descent.
Race headquarters and registration are at Little Stretton Village Hall. Entry is available by pre-entry on SI entries for £8.00, with a limited number of on-day entries at £10.00. The event is WFRA registered.
Full WFRA kit is mandatory. Required kit includes waterproof top and trousers with taped seams, a hat (a buff qualifies), gloves, compass, whistle, map, food and drink as needed for the conditions, and something to carry the kit such as a bumbag or rucksack. GPS devices are not permitted for navigation.
There will be a cut-off point after 1 hour 15 minutes at Ashes Hollow following the descent off Yearlet; runners outside the cut-off will be asked to make their way back and report to the finish via Ashes Hollow. Marshals will be limited, so previous fellrunning experience or mountain skills are recommended.
Parking is limited on street; participants should use designated car parks and avoid parking near the church or in pub car parks. Prizes are awarded to first, second and third placed men and women. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
