Call of the Wild Half Marathon, 5.5 Mile & 5K - 2027
The 2nd Annual Call of the Wild trail races take place on April 17, 2027, at Jack London State Historic Park in Glen Ellen, California. The event offers three distances:
- Half Marathon
- 5.5 Mile
- 5K
The course starts and finishes in the picnic area next to the London Cottage and passes the park's concrete silos. Runners move through vineyard views and continue into hillsides on the slopes of Sonoma Mountain, with vegetation including madrone, Douglas fir, black oak, buckeye, bigleaf maple and grassy meadows.
Course and on-course services include a 3.5 hour cut-off time for the half marathon; hikers and walkers are welcome. Aid stations are located at miles 3 and 9.6 on the half marathon, with an additional aid station at about mile 2.5 for the shorter trail. Participants are advised to carry water.
Logistics and policies noted by the organizer: bib numbers are mailed beginning two weeks before the event and can be picked up on race morning if not received; parking inside Jack London State Park carries a $10 per vehicle fee and is very limited with no parking allowed on London Ranch Road; headphones and other audio devices are not allowed on course. T-shirts are provided to participants, personalized award ribbons will be mailed to the top three male and female finishers in each age group for all distances, and finisher medals are awarded to half marathon finishers. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable; cancellations before March 17, 2027 may be eligible for a rollover credit minus a $20 fee if refund protection was not purchased.
