Call of the Wild Half Marathon & 5 Mile - Jack London State Historic Park
This event is the second annual Call of the Wild trail run, held on April 17, 2027, at Jack London State Historic Park in Glen Ellen, California. The course starts and finishes in the picnic area next to the London Cottage and follows trails through the Beauty Ranch developed by Jack London.
The route passes the concrete silos, offers views of a vineyard, and climbs into hillsides and meadows on the slopes of Sonoma Mountain. Vegetation along the course includes madrone, Douglas fir, black oak, buckeye, and bigleaf maple. The event includes two distances:
- Half Marathon
- 5 Mile
Aid stations are located at miles 3 and 9.6 for the half marathon and at mile 2.5 for the 5 Mile. There is a 3.5 hour course cut-off for the half marathon; hikers and walkers are welcome. The course will be marked with orange ribbon.
Logistics and incentives include mailed bib numbers beginning two weeks before the event, on-site bib pickup if needed, T-shirts for participants, and finisher medals for all half marathon finishers. Personalized award ribbons for top three finishers in each age group will be mailed after the race. Parking at Jack London State Park has a $10 per vehicle fee and is limited; there is no parking along London Ranch Road. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable; a rollover credit option is available under the event terms. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
