Viansa Wine Run 5K
The event is a chip timed 5K run/walk held at Viansa Winery in Sonoma, CA (25200 Arnold Dr). The course starts and finishes at the winery and follows a mixed surface that includes dirt, sections through the winery grounds, and pavement.
Registration includes a T-shirt (super soft ring spun cotton), a shatterproof collapsible portable wine glass, a finisher medal, a race bib with chip timing, online results, and a pour of wine. Minors may register at a discounted rate and receive a shirt, medal, and bib but will not receive a wine glass or a pour of wine.
Top three finishers in each age category receive custom age group awards. Age categories are divided in 10 year increments: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 & Over. Competitive runners and age group winners must start with the first group or wave to be eligible for awards. There will be no award ceremony; results are posted at J3Timing.com and awards are available for pickup on event day only, beginning one hour after the start of the first wave.
The local charity partner is the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation. SVEF, founded in 1993, provides free on-campus counseling, free after-school programs, and teacher grants; more than 60% of public school students in Sonoma Valley are low-income and/or English language learners. Donations may be made during registration to support SVEF.
Packet pickup takes place on race day and opens one hour before the event. Strollers are allowed but not recommended due to uneven ground; children in strollers may participate for free and do not need to register. Dogs are not allowed on site due to USDA restrictions for the farm property. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
