Brecon Beacons
The event takes place on 2027-08-07 in Talybont-on-Usk, Brecon, Wales, with base camp in Talybont-on-Usk inside Brecon Beacons National Park. The route passes moorland, glacial valleys and the flat-topped peaks of Pen y Fan and Cribyn. From the village of Talybont-on-Usk runners traverse reservoirs, forestry trails and exposed mountain ridges with views toward the Black Mountains. The terrain is technical and remote.
Distances offered:
- 51K, 51 km; 2,184 m ascent; 12 hr cut-off; min age 20; UTMB 50K
- 24K, 24 km; 667 m ascent; 6 hr cut-off; min age 17; UTMB 20K
Aid stations provide water, electrolytes or sports drink, coke, fruit (banana, orange), sweets, salty snacks, energy bars and energy gels at selected stations. The event is cupless; participants must provide their own cup or soft flask.
Facilities at the race village include bag drop, portaloos, food and snacks, finish aid stations, hot drinks and a kit stall. Free toilets are provided close to the race village. All races use chip timing with results posted online shortly after.
Walking poles are permitted. Headphone use is discouraged; open ear or bone conducting headphones are allowed if announcements remain audible. A mandatory pre-race briefing is held 15 minutes before each race, and registration opens 1 hour 30 minutes before each start.
