Event Overview
The Breckenridge Oktoberfest 5K is a trail running event held in Breckenridge, Colorado. The race takes place on the Town of Breckenridge Trails, coinciding with the local Oktoberfest celebration. The event is limited to a field of 300 runners.
Course Information
The course is a 5 km trail run with an elevation gain of approximately 416 feet. It begins behind Mountain Thunder Lodge on the Gondola Ski Back run and utilizes several local trails and roads, including:
- Pence Miller Trail
- Shock Hill Trail
- Troll Forest Trail
- Cucumber Creek Road
- Whispering Pines Trail
- Four O'clock Trail
The route concludes at Blue River Plaza on Main Street. Participants navigate through terrain featuring changing aspens and mountain scenery.
Participation Details
The event includes a long-sleeve tech shirt for the first 250 registrants. Participants aged 21 and over receive one beer token for the Oktoberfest celebration. Race bibs are collected at the start line behind Mountain Thunder Lodge. The event operates under a special use permit from the USDA Forest Service, White River National Forest.
Parking and Access
Paid parking is available at the South Gondola Lot and Garage. Access to the start line is provided via a pedestrian tunnel from the South Gondola Lot, followed by a short walk marked with blue arrows. There is no parking available directly at the start line.
