Bluebell Bash at Temple Newsam

Its Grim Up North Running stages the Bluebell Bash at Temple Newsam House in Leeds. The course runs through the estate's open country, garden and woodland and uses paths, grass and trail underfoot. The route is undulating and has a 6.5 hour cut off.

Distances offered include:

  • 6.7 miles 1x loop
  • Half Marathon 2x loops
  • 20 miler 3x loops
  • Marathon 4x loops

Feed stations are normally placed about every three miles and are well stocked; participants are asked to use a reusable cup or bottle because the event aims to be cup-less. The course is signposted and staffed by marshals. There are toilets near the registration and start/finish area. Parking at Temple Newsam is charged by Leeds City Council.

On finishing, runners receive event refreshments, recovery items and a bespoke medal, and the organiser provides a welcome at the finish. Organisers offer downloadable GPX files for navigation; not every junction will have a marshal. If a runner needs to withdraw they should inform the nearest marshal; in some cases dropping to a shorter distance is permitted. Transfers or deferrals are allowed up to 48 hours before the event. Public transport options include buses to Temple Newsam and Leeds City Station for rail connections. Start location what3words: fumes.popped.beyond.
