About the race
Blue Hill Mountain Trail Fest is a multi-distance trail race held in Blue Hill, Maine on August 7, 2027. The event uses trails on and around Blue Hill Mountain, a 934-foot monadnock conserved by Blue Hill Heritage Trust and historically known as Awanadjo by the Penobscot Tribe of the Wabanaki Confederacy. Distances include: - 5k - 10k - 25k - 50k The course combines open fields, densely forested technical singletrack, and viewpoints over the coast. The 5k follows a short out-and-back and a climb to the summit before descending to the start/finish.
The 10k completes an upper summit loop plus a full figure-eight, resulting in two summit visits. The 25k comprises multiple full figure-eight loops after a shorter upper loop. The 50k consists of several full figure-eight loops. The race hub hosts the main aid station at the start/finish with hydration, assorted snacks including local whoopie pies, and a smaller aid station at the Post Office/Osgood/Mountain Rd intersection.
Drop bags are available for the 25k and 50k. Support crews may station at Osgood/Mountain Rd for 25k and 50k runners; pacers are not allowed for any category. The event is Trail Sisters Approved and provides equal podiums and awards, women-specific apparel and products at aid stations, and a pregnancy and postpartum policy. Event profits benefit Blue Hill Heritage Trust and Wabanaki Alliance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
