Blackstone Edge Fell Race
Blackstone Edge Fell Race is an AS classic fell race in the South Pennines now hosted by Todmorden Harriers. The event was inaugurated in 1983 and was organised for over 40 years before changing hands. It is described as short and fast with rough sections in places.
The course covers 5.6 km / 366 m and visits the prominent Blackstone Edge trig point, the Pennine Way and an old Roman road. The route has retained its original line, including a frequently wet bog section, owing to continued access from local landowners.
The race is part of Todmorden Harriers' Summer Series alongside Hebden Bridge Fell Race, Stoodley Pike and Crow Hill Reverse. It has been included as a counter in the British and English Fell Championships on three previous occasions. Minimum age for entry is 16 years and kit requirements follow Fell Runners Association rules.
The event takes place on Saturday 18 May 2027 with a location listed as Blackstone Edge Old Road, Littleborough OL15 0LL. Results and photos from recent years are recorded and available for review. The race also notes support from Trash Free Trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
