2026 Black Friday 5k & 10k
The event is a trail and dirt-road run at Frying Pan Park in Herndon, VA (2709 West Ox Rd) on November 27. Points earned at this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k & Back of the Pack Series and toward the Fall Series.

- 5 km (two laps)
- 10 km (four laps)
The route combines a technical trail with rocks and roots and a mostly light gravel dirt road that is fairly flat. Water stations are provided: one on the 5k and three on the 10k at approximately mile markers 1.55, 3.1 and 4.65; Gatorade is available at some stations. Restrooms are located near the playground.
Runners receive a finisher’s coin, a technical (Dri-fit) event shirt, and the event is chip timed. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for runners registered before November 16; extra shirts may be available after that date on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration includes a virtual option for participants who cannot attend in person. Walkers are welcome. Race day registration and packet pickup are available at the venue; organizers recommend arriving about one hour before the participant’s event start time to check in.
Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall, plus age-group awards across standard age brackets. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
