Bigfoot Classic - San Antonio
The Bigfoot Classic takes place on January 10, 2027 at Northeast Lakeview College in San Antonio, Texas, organized by Bigfoot Running Company. The event offers multiple in-person races and a virtual option.
Race distances offered include:
- Kids Dash about 50 meters, for children 10 and under.
- 1 Mile untimed.
- 5K (3.11 miles).
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles).
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles).
- Volunteer then Run 5K option.
- Virtual Run (9.33 miles).
The 5K and the longer road races use chip timing; the 1 mile and Kids Dash are not chipped. All finishers in every distance receive a shirt and a medal. Chip timed events feature overall trophies for male and female winners and standard age group awards; age bands run from 10 and under through 70 plus with multiple placement levels.
The event includes a crowd-judged Legendary Beast Costume Contest with a trophy, a Bigfoot prize pack, and a complimentary future race entry for the winner. There are volunteer roles with different duties and benefits; full race volunteers may earn a race shirt, VIP access, and a choice of a free future race entry or a $20 pre-paid digital gift card. The Volunteer then Run option is limited to the first ten participants for the 5K and includes a chip timed bib, tee, and medal.
Courses are typically on parks and green belts and may include pavement, crushed granite, and dirt. Aid stations and on-course assistance are provided. Shirt guarantee cutoff is ten days before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
