Big Bertha Trail Run - 22 August 2026
The Big Bertha Trail Run is a 12 hour event held around Bertha Loch. The course is a 10 km loop; participants complete as many laps as they can within the 12 hour period. Entries are accepted for solo runners and for teams.
Chip timing is provided by Keep it Simple Timing Services and live results are available on the day. There is a water station on course at approximately 5 km. Insurance for participants is included unless a participant provides their own insurance.
The route is fully marked and marshalled and is supported by a medic team. Finish area facilities include refreshments from Starfish Cakes and Bakery, medals for every finisher created by The Workshop Aberfeldy, and free all-day parking. Prizes are awarded for furthest distance and for female, male, and non binary winners.
This is the third running of the 12 hour Big Bertha event. Past editions have recorded long distances completed in the time limit, with top totals reported up to 100 km for men and 80 km for women. The trails around Bertha Loch and Almondbank are described as varied. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
